2012 is here to end. And so are the 2012 trends. Well, not really; the trends are here to stay. Men fashion has seen various random yet elegant styles. Let’s see the few trends that made way this year to last longer.
The Keffiyeh Scarf
Scarves are not only in style amongst women, but men have picked up this trend too. The black and white square scarf with knotted fringe is popular with men. The knot is tied holding the two corners and bringing it in the front. So that a triangle is formed in the front. This came into fashion in summers. Apart from being hot in trend, it is also saves your neck and torso from the sun. This scarf has been worn among the Arabs since ages. And they actually partially wet the scarf and then wear it. That way it can keep you cool in the sun.
The Driving Moccasin
These shoes have beaten all the records of any new variety that has entered the shoe market. They are now a part of “Men’s Staple Wardrobe”. The design of driving moccasin is like a topsider, look wise and have rubber grummets on the outer sole. They are made up of strong rubber and have padded soles that give your feet a comfortable feel. They are not only used for driving purpose but also for a casual walk, for evening get together or formal wear. Wear them without socks and you are ready to roll in the most stylish look of the year.
The Trench Coat
The trench coats were always in style. However they got shorter, slimmer and better. They are made in body fitting sizes with elevated armholes. Some trench coats come with detachable inside layer for you to use in any season. The double breasted trench coat has taken a level up on the fashion hot list. Long cotton gabardine trenches are the most purchased coats. Burberry, Givenchy, Balenciaga and Aquascutum are the best brands that have brought various styling in trench coats.
Plaid jackets have entered the men’s wardrobe too. They are very well designed, come in flattering fits and have a cuddly collar. These plaid jackets are not the regular ones we are talking of; they are knitted or made of wool. They look perfect for the fall season. A fur plaid jacket can be worn with jeans, double breasted can be worn with trousers and the ultimate fitted jacket is perfect to adorn with shorts.
Again, the prints and floral have also found place in the men wardrobe. They are so much in style that if you do not own one, your fashion sense can be “the talk of the town”. Florals, paisleys, prints and patterns are no more just women’s forte. Hawaiian shirts, floral trousers, patterned shorts, paisley pajamas, printed chinos and designed khakis are all in vogue. This year’s fashion shows dominated print collection and became the idle scuttlebutt.
The camel coat, the Keffiyeh scarf, double buttoned blazers, Columbia boots and more trends would be carried forward to the next year.
